Just to give a new sparkle at our dinner’ menu of last night, I opted for something fancy and “foreigner”, sure to make that special someone happy, mainly because he was asking me for a long time the much-coveted salty crepes!
So I went for a safe recipe, choosing the one of Sonia, blog author of GialloZafferano,, and I watched her videorecipe to be sure to get the optimum results. At the point, I added my personal touch, choosing to cook some savory appetizers to propose in combination with ham & cheese Crepes: they are Turkish and code-named Pogaca (hope to spell it correctly).
If you have friends for dinner or have in mind a light appetizer, I recommend them, especially if like me, you love feta.
For about 30 cookies you will need: 250 grams of flour – 1 / 2 teaspoon salt – 2 pinches of red pepper – 1 / 2 teaspoon baking soda – 125 ml. Oil – 125 ml. plain yogurt – 90 grams of feta cheese into small cubes – 1 beaten egg yolk to glaze – sesame seeds to cover.
Put in a blender the flour, salt, pepper, baking soda, oil and yogurt and mix well until dough is soft, not sticky. Wrap with plastic wrap or parchment paper and place in refrigerator to harden for an hour.
Put a small amount of flour in your hands and form small balls with a spoon, crushing on parchment paper, forming disks, and put in the center the feta cubes. Fold the disks and form your cookies. Seal the edges well and brush the surface with the yolk, then sprinkle the sesame seeds.
Bake at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes until your fingerfood does not take a golden appearance.
My husband was so happy about Crepes (Thanks Sonia!), so that the plain ones I put last night in the fridge, became this morning, his sweet breakfast filled with Nutella cream, while I must confess I have eaten almost all the Pogaca cookies, couldn’t resist …
