Ci risiamo.
E’ buonissima!
Ops I did it again (was that a song, isn’t it?). But these are those special days where, despite the summer temperature outside, and let’s say either the inside one, I find myself baking and preparing lots of birthday cakes. That little lady with big eyes, who came around to ask for them, was so convincing, although she knew I am not making those amazing sugar paste creations with stunning decorations on top, but she was smiling and saying “I prefer yours”. Do I need to explain to all of you why I cooked cakes all the saturday afternoon and evening? I am sure you can even imagine her eyelashes’ movements!
However, one only post is not enough (and yes once again “the please make me a cake”, pushed me in preparing four of them, I have to admit), so you’ll find in the next day, probably the same or a similar story, so I beg your pardon in advance. But if you don’t do all this mess in the kitchen for a sweet birthday’ madness, when else?
And preparing my usual cake with milk cream and strawberries, making it suitable for the occasion, with a wafer cover with Tink on display and many marshmallows as a colored setting (you can find the recipe in this old post), I tried the Happy cake by Arabafelice: not long ago, I was reading this post written by Anna, the blog’ owner of “In the mood for pies“, and the story was so sincere and heartwarming, as well as the correctness of its author against anyone who gets hold of recipes others, without having the courtesy to cite at least the original sources (guys this is about education, and do not blame football when our country is falling apart, please!), I decided that before preparing the three birthday cakes I had in mind, I just tested this recipe and share with you this story and what it means.
You can see my Chocolate nut cream’ mustache up there ? 🙂 Simple, fast, only two ingredients: do you need another reason to try it? It’s jolly good!
